The Foundation's Hospital-Based Rural Health Care Program was designed to strengthen the ability of rural hospitals to provide high quality care and to promote the financial viability of these institutions.This is a one-year grant under Phase II of the Program to develop a statewide health manpower recruitment and retention program. The objective of this project is to restructure two regional rural delivery systems in such a way as to improve the distribution and retention of physicians and allied health care workers and reduce the cost of recruiting for rural hospitals.
