The Foundation's Local Initiative Funding Partners Program is a matching grants program designed to establish partnerships between the Foundation and local grantmakers in support of innovative, community-based projects that improve health and health care for underserved and vulnerable populations.Establishment of an AIDS prevention program to demonstrate that family planning clinics can become a key line of defense against AIDS, especially among women and newborns. The program will provide: (1) preventive education, counseling, and voluntary confidential HIV testing; (2) community outreach and education in high-risk areas; and (3) coordination with other organizations to set up AIDS prevention activities in the City and State.
