Our goal is to see that Americans can have stable affordable health coverage. To achieve this goal we support programs to help implement the Affordable Care Act, provide resources to consumers, and fund research to aid policy makers in making informed decisions. Through our investments in our grantees, we seek to improve the health and health care of all Americans. In 2010, we awarded approximately $300 million in grants that fell within seven program areas.

The Medicaid Leadership Institute is a unique program designed to enhance the leadership capacity of Medicaid directors to maximize the potential of publicly financed health care. Entering its third year, having worked with 12 top Medicaid directors from across the country, the Institute is an initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and directed by the Center for Health Care Strategies.
