Three separate letters to the editor of The Lancet criticized a meta-analysis study examining the benefits of intensive glucose control on cardiovascular outcomes and stroke published in the journal. A fourth letter was supportive of the study. The authors respond to the criticisms and explain their choices of studies to be included.
