At the Clinton Global Initiative's annual meeting in New York City, RWJF President and CEO Risa Lavizzo-Mourey took part in a panel discussion to discuss the importance of prevention. The discussion was moderated by Chelsea Clinton, vice chair of the Clinton Foundation.
The title of the discussion, which took place September 24, 2013, was "Healthier Futures, Prioritizing Prevention." Lavizzo-Mourey was joined in the conversation by Margaret Chan, director-general of the World Health Organization, and Adrian Gore, chief executive officer of Discovery Holdings Limited. Clinton is vice chair of the Clinton Foundation.

The annual meeting brought together leaders from many spheres of influence—from U2 front man and global poverty advocate Bono to Microsoft's Bill Gates to President Barack Obama. The goal was to mobilize these leaders, and others, to increase their effectiveness and drive action in dealing with global challenges to "create lasting and scalable success."
