RWJF Grantee Receives the John Slade Award

Frank Chaloupka, Ph.D., was awarded the 2011 John Slade Award at the annual Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco Conference. Chaloupka has been a partner to RWJF on many issues. Focusing first on substance abuse and tobacco issues and then more recently on preventing childhood obesity. The John Slade Award recognizes Chaloupka's contributions to these fields.

According to C. Tracy Orleans, senior scientist at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, who has worked closely with Dr. Chaloupka for many years,, "the nomination letters emphasized his broad and pioneering contributions to tobacco control, and his exceptional dedication to communicating his research with great skill, humility and collegiality." Orleans was the recipient of the John Slade Award in 2007.
