In 2009, American Evaluation Association (AEA) President Debra Rog, conceived the Thought Leader Discussion Series with a goal to connect thought leaders in the evaluation field with their fellow-AEA members, new and old alike. The Thought Leader Discussion Series is one of many ways the organization uses to build bridges among its members and to foster a sense of community.
Each month, AEA hosts an online exchange (not in real time) over the course of a week using AEA’s discussion forums. During each exchange, an established evaluator or theorist contributes daily to an online dialogue around issues of importance to the field and to our professional practice. As a participant, it is up to you whether to sit back and watch the exchange or become an active contributor, asking questions of the speaker and your participant colleagues or providing insights based on your own background and experiences.
Laura C. Leviton, special adviser for evaluation at RWJF and past president of AEA, hosted the Thought Leader Discussion Series from September 26 to October 2, 2010. The transcript from this discussion forum has been posted as a PDF in the downloads section above.
