Highest Rates of Adult Obesity

More than one-third of U.S. adults are obese. The epidemic is particularly severe in the Southern states; Mississippi has the highest rate of adult obesity in the country at 32.5 percent. This bar graph shows the 10 states with the highest adult obesity rates based on combined data from 2006-2008.
