The Steve Patterson Award celebrates and promotes the selfless service of people within the world of sports whose passionate efforts make a difference in the lives around them. Each year we anticipate a spirited competition. Winners will join this already impressive list of past champions.

Patterson Award Ceremony 2013

The Patterson Award honors the legacy of Steve Patterson. After Steve’s death from cancer at 56, RWJF created this first-of-its-kind award in 2005.

The LA84 Foundation

The Foundation is the legacy of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. It has reached about 3 million youngsters, fostering the growth of youth sports by providing grants to more than 1,100 organizations.
