Katherine Ong joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in 2012 as a member of the Private Investments team. She assists the team in analyzing, selecting and monitoring investments as part of RWJF’s overall investment strategy. She values the “opportunity to work with a small, focused team and to interact with colleagues who share my interest in strengthening the Foundation’s private portfolio.”
Previously, Ong was an investment banking analyst for the Media and Telecommunications coverage group at Citigroup in New York. She constructed financial models and prepared strategic advisory presentations for clients across the media, telecommunications and leisure sectors. In addition, she was selected as one of five analysts in a class of 85 to assist in training the incoming Citigroup 2011 Analyst Class.
Ong also served as an equity research intern for the Managed Care team with Barclays Capital in New York. She gathered data on pricing trends, economic impact on insurance offerings, and health care reform in the managed care industry. As a private equity intern for Goode Partners in New York, she analyzed and researched potential investment opportunities in the luxury retail sector.
Ong holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance (with honors) and a minor in Art History from New York University.
Born in New Jersey, she currently lives in New York City where she pursues her interests in interior design, painting, reading, and tennis. She enjoys travel to Europe and Asia, and has played viola with the Zephyr International Music Festival, the New Jersey Youth Symphony, and the New Jersey Regions Orchestra.
