Remarks to the RWJF Commission to Build a Healthier America

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Commission to Build a Healthier America was created in 2008 to identify ways—beyond health care—to improve the health of all Americans. Four years after the release of the recommendations, RWJF reconvened the Commission to provide new guidance in two key areas: early childhood and healthy communities.

On June 19, the RWJF Commission to Build a Healthier America met in Washington, D.C., to hear testimony from leading experts on how best to support health in communities and during early childhood.

Read the opening remarks Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, president and CEO of RWJF, gave to the Commission.
