The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation provides grants for projects
in the United States and U.S. territories that advance our mission
to improve the health and health care of all Americans.
For projects to be eligible for funding, they must address one of our seven program areas. Visit a program area for more information on its strategic objectives and funding guidelines.
RWJF awards most grants through calls for proposals (CFPs). All seven program areas issue CFPs from time to time.
Three program areasBuilding Human Capital, Pioneer and Vulnerable Populationsalso accept unsolicited proposals. RWJF accepts unsolicited proposals in these areas at any time and issues awards throughout the year. There are no deadlines.
We generally support public agencies, universities and public charities that are tax-exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
